B. Hoover: Most Fun Job I Ever Had
I worked at Henry’s in Anderson Indiana in 1965-66 while in high school. Most fun job I’ve ever had. Whenever I am in Benton Harbor I stop in and eat and get the latest T-Shirt.

J. Blood: College Life
In the summer of 1962 after a disappointing Freshman year at Univ. of Iowa and giving up my baseball scholarship, my Uncle Hillis (Bill), manager /part owner of Henry’s on 1st Ave and 16th Ave SW I was introduced to 1st Ave employees as
Jim Lee, Uncle Hillis' assist. mgr. (didn’t want employees to think there was favoritism!). Met my future roommate and his sister who became my wife and mother of our son. The re-start of my college life!

H. Yee: Namesake
My siblings named me from Henry's Restaurants. I'm told they and our parents would drive to Chicago in the late 1950's and early 1960's, seeing the restaurants en route. When I was to be born, our parents asked my siblings to name me. I was almost a 'Harry' but 'Henry' from the restaurants was suggested and selected. A YouTube video just surfaced without intended search, entitled '15 Forgotten Fast Food Chains That Are No Longer Around' with a photo image of a Henry's Hamburger's restaurant displayed. I learned your Benton Harbor, MI location exists! Perhaps some day, will RV journey your way!

John W: Henry's Kirksville MO
We literally lived across the street from Henry's and my oldest brother worked there. We had 6 kids in our family and I think you could get 5 burgers for a $1.00 on certain days of the week. My parents would give us like $5.00 and we would get 15 burgers and a pound of fries and eat like we were kings. Their burgers were good and the fries were great. Brings back good times, simple, cheap and fulfilling and we felt like we were eating out. My brother liked working there. The manager there passed away a couple of years ago and the first thing my brother said was that was the old Henry's hamburger manager. I may be in that area in the next few years, going to make my wife go eat there with me so I can reminisce about it.
